A week in review...

Sunday.....

We traveled over to Brad's mom's house in Shawnee America to celebrate his sister Rebecca's birthday!! I got to make the birthday cake - which is pictured above - I am a little bit proud of how it turned out. It was a fresh strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting....YUM!! It was a big hit!!! I got the recipe here.

Brad's mom has a pond out next to her house and this is one of the two fish that he caught out there. I am always so proud of him and his catches!!

Tuesday......

Arrived at work right when med.flight was taking off...I have made a lot of decisions and changes in the last month regarding my job (I will share in a separate post) and school. I've decided to suck it up and go to nursing school b/c one day I want to be on med.flight as a nurse! So I have enrolled in Chemistry (YUCK!) for next semester...bit nervous but I can do it. Also on Tuesday we unfortunately had a traumatic full arrest come into the ER from a bad car wreck. However I did get to watch the doctor do a pericardial synthesis. Which is where the Dr. take a long needle and draws fluid or blood out of the sac around the heart...so amazing!! I love the heart its my favorite organ...weird I know.

Thursday......

When there's something strange in the neighborhood....Who ya gonna call....GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

Brad and I were sitting at a light when we saw this truck... I just had to take a picture...b/c how often do you actually see the ghostbusters car!! If you notice there are lights on the top and some weird antenna thingy. SO RANDOM!!

Friday....

If you know me at all you will know that I am somewhat anti.child. I don't care if you have them I just rather not be around..thanks... However there is one baby that I just love! Miss Kennedy! She belongs to one of the girls I work with....and I got the pleasure of babysitting her Friday night! She is the best, smartest, cutest kid EVER!!! I was actually bummed out when she went to bed at 7:15 b/c I wanted to play more!!!

Saturday....

  

Brad and I went up to the mall and they had a robotic surgery display out and you got to try it out... I totally kicked ass!! The first pic shows the area that you were working with and those rubber bands were like the small ones you put on your braces. The middle picture again shows the robotic little arms... and then the third picture shows where you sit and manipulate the arms...it was awesome...I took those tiny rubber bands and tied them in a knot and then undid it and it was so easy!! and fun!! and cool!!!

We went to go visit my daddy for father's day!! He's such a funny guy and I just love him soooo... MUCH!!!

Summer Shoes

My favorite summer shoes are my Chaco sandals that I bought while in Colorado last summer. At first I was hesitant b/c they were around $70 for a fancy pair of flip flops....but after the sales man advised me of the lifetime guarantee....even if my dog chews through the strap...and the fact that I can tighten down the strap and hike in them....even though rivers.....not that I do that often but you never know. I decided to pay the money and buy them. Best shoes I have bought!! They are so comfortable!!! I even wore them when we went down to Dallas for the opening OU football game and my feet didn't hurt one bit!

Brad's favorite summer shoes are his Keens...He swears they are the most comfortable thing ever!! His dad gave him a pair two summers ago and then I bought him a new pair last year. At first I really didn't like the look of them....but they have grown on me. He likes them b/c they are like a sandal/tennis shoe and even though they are leather you can still get them wet and it doesn't hurt them at all.

Brad's 30th Birthday

My Bradley turned 30 on April 24th...we however celebrated on the 23rd!! His mom planned a little family get together at Pole Position.... No its not a strip club -hehe- Its a raceway - like really really fast go carts!! It was so much fun!! I couldn't believe how fast you went -- and you had to wear some serious head gear that made you super sweaty... Well me being the space cadet that I am forgot to charge up the battery for the camera...so I only have a few pics of family and cake I took with my iphone...so they aren't the best - sorry.

Our Day Date

So I am a bit late on this post ....but better late then never... The Tuesday after Valentine's was Brad & I's  date day and it was a great day!!

(btw I decided to add lots of visuals for your enjoyment)

First off we grabbed a quick lunch at Taco Bell...because I am addicted to their new 5 layer burrito..

If you haven't tried one yet then I suggest you stop what you are doing RIGHT now and go get one...you won't be disappointed!!

Then we headed to the movies to catch an afternoon showing of Avatar...

Now when this movie first came out I was not that interested in viewing it...I don't care for make.believe things like giant blue people...but everyone kept raving and raving on how good it was and that the story reminded them of Dances with Wolves and that I just had to see it in 3-D. So here we are looking like big o'l dweebs in our 3-D fashion ware..

I really enjoyed the movie more then I expected and suggest everyone now stops what they are doing RIGHT now and go see it.....quick b/f its out of the big movie theater....and run by taco bell on your way....

After seeing the movie I can see how people can relate it to Dances with Wolves ....however I personally thought it reminded me more of Fern-gully on steroids....whats your thoughts??? Gully or Wolves??

After the movies we headed to my favorite place to eat for special days...Red Lobster!!! I love the Red Lobster...those cheese biscuits yum!!! Where Brad let me get lobster..I've never had it b/f and I know Red Lobster isn't prolly the best place to try but when your nowhere near the ocean you take what you can get. I loved loved LOVED it!!! Tasted like steak!!!  This is what I feasted on!! 

and I ate the whole thing!! So good ...YUM!! I think Brad had this....I was too busy stuffing my own face to pay a whole lot of attention to anything else...

After gorging ourselves on lobster, shrimp, pasta and many...many cheese biscuits we rolled ourselves home to the couch and relaxed with a bit of TV....it was a fabulous day and I hope to do it again soon!!!

Trash...You think we would learn by now

So it never fails....trash is full....not taken out at proper time...everyone gets a bit lazy now and then...unless you have dogs...then they remind you that you are only setting yourself up for disappointment...and a mess to clean up!

Today while I was taking a nap Brad decided to run and get something to eat...well instead of putting the dogs in their houses (crate) he left them out and the trash was unattended ...  I got up right when he came home to find the dogs had gotten into it...I have NO idea what was in there...other than coffee grounds & fast food leftovers...or for how long but Charlie ended up throwing up and Casey & Cooper are just acting like they don't feel well at all...hopefully out of all 5 of us ....we all learned our lessons...even if your gone for less then 10 min its enough time for 3 smart doggies to get into trouble and leave us w/ a mess to clean up.

Happy 29th Birthday to my love Brad!!!! Even though technically it was yesterday the 24th... I just wanted to wish him a Very Happy B-Day and that I don't know what I would do without you in my life!! I am so happy we found each other!!

Brad is happy b/c that was the picture he wanted. And if you don't know what I'm talking about go here. His registration goes in the mail tomorrow and we should find out if he makes it in on April 10th...so keep you fingers and toes crossed for little Bean.

Boob-Tube

So I was told yesterday that it was time for me to blog again and I am sorry that I haven't really posted in almost a week but I've been in a funk - no sure why. Anyways.....

So since I've been in a funk I've been watching TV - which I do way too much whether I'm funky or not .... but here are the shows I've been keeping an eye on.

Nip/Tuck
So Brad and I LOVE this show we get so excited about it every season. However I found this season to be a bit disappointing. First of all its already over!! I think it ran for two months which is just crap. Second there was no crazy crazy drama I thought. Last season ended when Eve shot Julia and she had no memory of who she was. Well they barely even touched that story this season she just moved away -- WHATEVER. Then Christian marries Liz the lesbian b/c he thinks he only has 6 months to live and find out on the last show that hes not dying - so now what is he to do....ugggh just very disappointed this season.

Breaking Bad
Brad found this show last year and I like it! It's about this science teacher who is dying and starts cooking meth to make all this money for his family -- Now him and his partner are mixed in w/ some crazy drug dealers and oh by the way did I mention that his brother.in.law works for the DEA -- season just started this last Sunday on AMC at 9 if your interested.

Ghost Whisper
I love this show - I know it can be a bit cheesy at times but I don't care and this next week I think is going to be really good - Melinda finally told (crap I can't remember his name) that her husbands soul went into his body - and this next week I think Jim (her husband) comes back! I was so sad when he died last season - I think I actually cried - lame I know.

Greys and Private Practice
I don't remember what happened per say on the last episode b/c that was so 2 weeks ago but I remember that I can't wait to see the next one which hopefully is this week.

MOVIES

Last Night we watched My Best Friends Girlfriend with Jason Biggs and Dane Cook. I thought it was pretty cute and funny I would recommend it. Brad even liked it and he didn't even wanna watch it at first.

Goodfellas - so far this has been my favorite movie that we have rec'd from the flix - I had never seen it b/f and I loved it!! It made me wish I was a mobster :) if you haven't seen it I highly suggest it!!!

Burn After Reading - this was a cute movie - we went in w/ low expectations so I liked it a bit more then the average. I kinda remined me of Snatch (great movie) or Lock Stock and Two Barrels.

So there you have it my life has been SOOO...exciting latley - sorry if this was a boring blog - I will try harder next time.


~I forgot to mention How I Met Your Mother - this has got to be our favorite show!! Its so funny - thats all :)

Feeling Flaky

So Cooper and Charlie both have dry flaky skin and since they are both black it quite noticeable. And if you don't know who the heck I'm talking about go here. Well today Casey got to go to PetsMart for his day of beauty which includes a bath, toe clippings, ear cleaning. While the other two get bathed at home b/c they have less hair and are SOOO...much easier to wash than Casey. So Brad and I were out and we took Cooper and Charlie to the dog park to play since Casey was gone today and they got so dirty!! So we dropped them off at home and ran around a bit, which included a stop at Petco for some new dog shampoo. We've been using oatmeal shampoo on them and they are REALLY flaky. So I found this shampoo called Feeling Flaky by Pet Head by TIGI who make Bed Head for peeps, which I myself am a fan of. Anyways I bathed them both when I got home and so far no flakes. Im sure it will take a few shampooings but they are super soft and smell great - it kinda had a grape scent to it. It was a bit pricey for dog shampoo $14.99 but it was only $2.00 more then the medicated one and smells way better!

Shut Up!!!....I'm Trying To Sleep

When it comes to mornings I usually don't do well right off the start. My idea of waking up is to wake up w/o an alarm and to silence from everyone. Well Brad loves to sing to me in the morning whether I'm awake yet or not and sometimes this will result in me saying some very hateful things just to get him to shut up. Well he's just as bad as me sometimes. For example last night Brad went to bed before me and so I when I went to go to bed I had put the dogs up and this is what transpired.

Brad"what are you doing?"

Me "um coming to bed" then I went to crawl into bed I accidentally touched his foot while I was trying to crawl into the bed.

Brad "STOP IT!!! STOP TOUCHING MY FOOT!!! What are you doing" by this time I was already in bed and not touching him any longer

Me "sorry ..." then we fought over the blanket and I decided to go sleep in the other room.

So today I was talking about last night and he doesn't remember it at all, he says he dose remember me coming to bed but not all the other stuff. Which I think is funny.... not sure why but I do :)

Girlie Girl

If you know me at all I am the kind of girl that kicks back in a t.shirt, jeans and converse. I've never been the girl that goes all out on myself on a daily basis. I do enjoying dressing up every now and then from time to time. And I use to do it a bit more back in my City Walk days. But now I find it stressful. First off I don't have any dressy clothes. I have one pair of nice heels (which I noticed are going to need to be replaced soon) and I've never been one to wear alot of make-up.

Well yesterday was Brad's granny's 75th birthday party and I needed to look nice. You know jeans a nice shirt and heels. Well I went to the mall and looked around and I couldn't find anything that fit the picture that was in my head. And mind you Brad's sister is a total girlie girl. Heels everyday, make-up and she knows how to accessorize, I on the other hand can not. And girls you know how it is you have to not compete but well I can't think of a better word. Its not that I feel threatened but you know you just don't wanna be the frumpy one - does that makes sense? I think its an inner girl thing. ANYWAYS.... so I ended up going to target and finding a shirt I had my eye on and I get it - even though its not what I remembered it looking like - but I had no choice time was ticking down I had to get home and start getting ready. I find these kind of events to be VERY stressful and I go through this every holiday or little family event that we attend. And the last couple of times I just didn't care and sported my converse and jeans. So yesterday Brad's mom even said how I looked really nice and how that I'm usually a tomboy. Which I am, always have been. I was the girl in the trees, riding bikes in the creek, picking up frogs and turtles and caterpillars as a child growing up. My mother does not wear make-up so I never had anyone teach me I had to learn out of Seventeen and YM magazines on how to apply eye shadow.

A Day In History

Yesterday will be put down as the first time in history that .........I ever cooked a HUGE meal which included a turkey!!! I bet you guys were thinking I was going to talk about the swearing in of the first African American President..That was exciting too...I watched it all day!

Back to my bird....

So I had my parents come down for dinner yesterday and I cooked my turkey that I had rec'd as a Thanksgiving gift from the hospital and let me tell you I was quite nervous. You see I can bake...Not cook! So I got up early and I baked a cheese cake - from scratch, even the crust - and then the bird went into the oven. I also made broccoli, rice and cheese casserole for the first time too. And it all turned out FABULOUS! I was quite proud of myself! However it was freaking exhausting...I was ready for a nap by the time my parents showed up!

And as a side note The Boy did help me clean up the house while I was cooking and I appreciated it very much!!
