Totally ME!!!

To see or NOT to see....

So I went to the eye doctor about 3 wks ago only to find out for the first time that you are not suppose to focus when your reading that eye chart....who knew!!! Which in turn means I'm blinder then I thought or knew....GREEAAAAAAAAAT!!! So I decided to try for contacts this go around...and 3wks have gone by and I'm not sure if I can do this!! I've finally...almost...as long as I'm in a good mood...have mastered putting them into my eyeballs. The only problem now is my eyes itch, itch, itch and are super dry no matter how many drops I put in there. And when they get dry then I can't see shit...ugh! I just don't know if I am made for contacts. My cousin suggested getting some sensitive eye solution b/c I may be allergic to something in the regular stuff...So that I still have yet to try - blah!! 

I then went to the eye glasses store in the mall to see how much it would be to get new lens put in my current frames and they said it would be $200.00 just for lens!!! I really like my frames and I have and do not see a point in changing but it seems like it would be cheaper to buy all new fames and lens b/c then they offer a discount. 

Well time to get ready for another fun filled day at work!!!

Wishing I was on Staycation!

Sooo...

So I began to start to look up some stuff to blog about....then I decided to mess around w/ my layout... and well an hour or so has passed and now I'm sleepy.... Ugh! I'm not that satisfied w/ this layout so I'm sure I will change it again in the near future...like tomorrow!

Anyways does anyone have any suggestions for an itchy doggie?? Charlie Bean my mini doxie is super itchy and dry and I'm not sure how to cure it. Love to hear some suggestions!!

A week in review...

Sunday.....

We traveled over to Brad's mom's house in Shawnee America to celebrate his sister Rebecca's birthday!! I got to make the birthday cake - which is pictured above - I am a little bit proud of how it turned out. It was a fresh strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting....YUM!! It was a big hit!!! I got the recipe here.

Brad's mom has a pond out next to her house and this is one of the two fish that he caught out there. I am always so proud of him and his catches!!

Tuesday......

Arrived at work right when med.flight was taking off...I have made a lot of decisions and changes in the last month regarding my job (I will share in a separate post) and school. I've decided to suck it up and go to nursing school b/c one day I want to be on med.flight as a nurse! So I have enrolled in Chemistry (YUCK!) for next semester...bit nervous but I can do it. Also on Tuesday we unfortunately had a traumatic full arrest come into the ER from a bad car wreck. However I did get to watch the doctor do a pericardial synthesis. Which is where the Dr. take a long needle and draws fluid or blood out of the sac around the heart...so amazing!! I love the heart its my favorite organ...weird I know.

Thursday......

When there's something strange in the neighborhood....Who ya gonna call....GHOSTBUSTERS!!!

Brad and I were sitting at a light when we saw this truck... I just had to take a picture...b/c how often do you actually see the ghostbusters car!! If you notice there are lights on the top and some weird antenna thingy. SO RANDOM!!

Friday....

If you know me at all you will know that I am somewhat anti.child. I don't care if you have them I just rather not be around..thanks... However there is one baby that I just love! Miss Kennedy! She belongs to one of the girls I work with....and I got the pleasure of babysitting her Friday night! She is the best, smartest, cutest kid EVER!!! I was actually bummed out when she went to bed at 7:15 b/c I wanted to play more!!!

Saturday....

  

Brad and I went up to the mall and they had a robotic surgery display out and you got to try it out... I totally kicked ass!! The first pic shows the area that you were working with and those rubber bands were like the small ones you put on your braces. The middle picture again shows the robotic little arms... and then the third picture shows where you sit and manipulate the arms...it was awesome...I took those tiny rubber bands and tied them in a knot and then undid it and it was so easy!! and fun!! and cool!!!

We went to go visit my daddy for father's day!! He's such a funny guy and I just love him soooo... MUCH!!!

Summer Shoes

My favorite summer shoes are my Chaco sandals that I bought while in Colorado last summer. At first I was hesitant b/c they were around $70 for a fancy pair of flip flops....but after the sales man advised me of the lifetime guarantee....even if my dog chews through the strap...and the fact that I can tighten down the strap and hike in them....even though rivers.....not that I do that often but you never know. I decided to pay the money and buy them. Best shoes I have bought!! They are so comfortable!!! I even wore them when we went down to Dallas for the opening OU football game and my feet didn't hurt one bit!

Brad's favorite summer shoes are his Keens...He swears they are the most comfortable thing ever!! His dad gave him a pair two summers ago and then I bought him a new pair last year. At first I really didn't like the look of them....but they have grown on me. He likes them b/c they are like a sandal/tennis shoe and even though they are leather you can still get them wet and it doesn't hurt them at all.

It's not on any major highway .....and according to Wikipedia it's town's total area is 0.1 square mile!!

That is a small town!!!

Now why would I blog about this little town w/ the average annual income is $17,000... Well I was telling my friend over at Thoughts Right Now  that I thought old abandoned properties were interesting with all the history that is occasionally left behind. She then told me about this website called Abandoned Oklahoma. 

Again you'r probably still wondering why Skedee out of all the places on that website ...well I've been there...ONCE!! When I was going to school in Stillwater, OK -about 1999- we would go on country road drives....we would find a dirt road (which was easy to do) and just take it out of town...sometimes ending up in Kansas w/o even realizing in until we found a major HWY and headed back home.  Well one time on a drive we had to stop b/c there was a cow in the middle of the road....as we inched around it we noticed the small town so we drove down the one street that contained houses just looking around....as we drove by this one house a pig....YES A PIG...comes running out of a driveway chasing us like a dog would!!! And that is why I remember Skedee, Oklahoma!!!

Seahorses Forevea!

Someone up at work shared this video and it spread around the ER like fire...It is the funniest thing ever!! And I can't believe that I have not shared it on with you guys as well..... Drinking out of Cups...the story behind it is that some friends were together tripping acid and one of them went into a closet and just started rambling to himself...his friends then recorded it and then added animation.

I love this video - I have it saved on my favorites on my iPhone and watch it whenever I have a bad day!!!

Shape-ups

According to Sketchers website the Shape-Ups are suppose to get you fit while you walk work shop and more!! However you don't look very cool doing it!! I have heard people rave about how comfortable these shoes are and they might very well be ....but I think they are soooooo....freakin ugly!!! And I've seen people walk in them and the like almost bounce around its sooooo weird. Now if I were to spend over 100.00 on some tennis shoes that are suppose to help tone my ass while doing daily chores then I think I would go with the Reebok Easy-Tone  version .... they look so much more normal!!

 

However this is what their website said about how their shoes work to tone you....

Reebok uses unique balance pods with moving air built into the shoe that provide natural instability with every step, which forces your muscles to adapt and work harder.

Provides NATURAL INSTABILITY....thats the part that frightens me!! I am already naturally instable running into door frames and knocking my knees on the coffee table and stubbing my toes tripping over Brads shoes...I don't think I need any additional assistance in that department ...and if you know me personally at all I am sure that you would agree!!

What are your thoughts on these type of shoes...have anyone of you tried them?? 

Lavender Vanilla Love

I'm not a big fan of lavender or vanilla when they are on their own but put them together and mmm...good!! I have used and suggest using the following products if you too also enjoy this scent as well.

Now I am a Yankee candle whore....but I LOVE this candle as much as any Yankee!!

This product is actually the item that prompted this blog. I usually get the Yankee plug.in thingy for the bedroom - but they don't have ALL the different scents in the plug.in as they do in the candles -- so I was grocery shopping and decided to pick this up for our bedroom and I love LOVE it!! You can turn the smell to high or low...we have it on low... and it is such a pleasant continuous smell for the bedroom!!!! I highly suggest it!!

Text Queen

When text messaging came about I never thought I would be one to hop on that train...boy was I wrong!!! It has completely changed the way I communicate w/ my friends and family and how I feel about talking on the phone. I find text.ing so convenient because not only can you carry on multiple conversations with multiple people at once but you can do other things as well...like work HA!  I have found that text messaging also takes the awkwardness of those annoying silent moments that everyone has on the phone...and allows you to answer at YOUR convenience. If you know me at all....I RARELY answer my phone....but text me and I will respond pretty quickly.... 

So if you need anything....TEXT ME!! but don't call I may be sleeping...hehehe!!

In the moment

Right now I just got home from work where I spent the last 45 mins talking with one of the nurses about relationships..She is going through a very difficult time in her marriage.  I listened and advised her that someday it will be ok and that the sun will shine again and I know that is hard for her to grasp right now but its so very true...But I know she will probably not believe or understand me until she finally reaches peace within herself. You live and you learn. It just sucks!!

On a different note my dogs are driving me nuts!!! I guess they are all hyper because I just got home from work...or brad gave them a whole bunch of sugar while I was gone..who knows...but they are all wobbling around and making noises and they want to go outside and then inside and then they want food and up on the couch and off the couch and oh my goodness!!

I am so stinking tired right now I really need to go to bed...You see I have been working out!!!! and my legs are super tired today I did 45 min of cardio today and Tuesday. And yesterday Lindy Lou and I went all around town and to the city and back shopping and stuffs and my legs are tired!! But that good tired!!! However I think I'm going to take tomorrow off from working out.

Man I'm watching this show on National Geographic right now called Factory Floor w/ Brian Marshall ... I don't know its just on... and its showing how they make money...holy moly just stacks of $20's -- like millions in minutes!! Crazy...what I wouldn't give for a few of those sheets!!! Can you imagine the background check you have to go through to get that job!!

Well I'm sure I have bored you enough today...I'm going to leave you with and a new word to add to your vocabulary...the word is MERKIN ... Google it!! Very interesting....

Can you say ANNOYING...I think you can!

Ok we all have them...the people that keep popping up b/c they are famous ...or should I say WAS famous..and they annoy the living poo out of you and you don't even know why...Sometimes its their their actions even just their looks and as soon as they appear on TV or in a story and you try your best to change the channel or put down the magazine as fast as you can.... What got me thinking to blog about this brings me to my first victim...

She's coming out with another show about how she failed in life as a skinny woman...yes you had an acting career and then you got fat and then you lost weight and tried to come back and appeared on Oprah in a bathing suit!!.. of all things we don't want to see you in...and then guess what you got fat again and now another stupid TV show...Like Fat Actress on Showtime wasn't bad enough...please just hang up your hat nobody cares that the only way you stayed skinny was from the coke you did..ya that sends a great message.

Kate Gosselin

Seriously!! Now she's on dancing with the stars are you kidding me!!!! Who's watching all your kids while you dance?? Now I don't watch dancing with the stars but I will admit that I caught a few episodes of John & Kate + 8 and if I were John I would have divorced you years ago...in fact I don't think I would have married you in the first place you control freak!! Her family unfortunately failed as a unit and now she is dragging her dirty laundry into the media...you had a show on TLC you did not make movies or support a good cause of any sort..nobody cares about you anymore!! Please go live your life in private..Thank You!

Dogg the Bounty Hunter

I do not watch this show and I never have...I do however watch A&E alot therefore I see stupid commercials on the rare occasion that I watch live TV....I think this is the ugliest couple ever!!! Cut the mullet please! I can only imagine how annoying you are if I were actually watch your show...this one just hits my list for aesthetics..or the lack of I should say!

I've actually stopped watching Entertainment Tonight b/c of these people...for some reason ET thinks I care what Donnie or Marie's thoughts are about EVERYTHING....again these are people that "yes you did have a career in Hollywood...BUT now you don't" The End ..Good Bye!

Long Live the Beast...Hello Zippy!!

So I'm behind on blogging about the loss of the longest relationship in my adult life...The Selling of the BEAST

The Beast was a 1995 chevy Tahoe - 2 door 4x4.....she was awesome especially when I first got her back in the summer of 2000. I was currently living in Stillwater, OK when I begged my parents to let me trade in my '94 Nissan Sentra  for the beast w/ 64k -- Having it in Stillwater was a lot of fun.....driving around on all the dirt roads and the mud puddles!!! The beast went all the way to Jacksonville, FL  (only to have the air conditioner compressor thing go out somewhere in the SW part of Oklahoma on the way home)  and all along the gulf coast .... down to Austin, TX and Dallas a little more then a handful of times.... The beast was with me for a few months shy of 10 years. I ended up selling her to a guy Brad knew through work -- She had 213k!!! Yep two -hundred and thirteen thousand miles on a chevy motor!!! 

I learned to live without when it came to the Beast....live w/o air conditioning for the last 7 Oklahoma summers (wow - just did the math on that didn't realize I had gone that long) .... live w/o any form of music in my vehicle since about 4 years ago when my car was broken into at my apartment and they took my crappy old cd player w/ my disc 1 of Dave Matthews at Red Rocks (still kinda pissed about losing the CD) - I just never felt the need to spend the money on a new one.....I learned to live w/o being able to lock my doors the last year b/c the driver door hung funny and when I locked my doors especially when it was cold out I wouldn't be able to unlock them....It was time to let her go and get something more reliable.....I was actually surprised how emotional I got when they came and picked her up and took her away from my house never to be seen again...I cried...its pathetic I know.. 

Welcome...Zip, Zippy, Zipper

She is a 2008 chevy Aveo5 and I love her!!! My bestie Lindy Lou has a white one and I liked hers so much that I decided to go and get one...This is my very first car in my name alone!! Brad found it online (this is from the actual add...actual car!!) and I went yesterday (Monday) just to check it out on a whim. I ended up putting on my big girl panties and making the decision on my very own (no help from Brad or my mom) to make the deal!! It really felt awesome!! It has low miles, gets great gas mileage, it feels way bigger on the inside then it look on the out...it has air conditioner and a stereo (which I'm going to upgrade to be able to play my iPhone)...it's so economical!!! and its MY VERY OWN!! I chose the name Zippy b/c thats how I feel driving it come paired to the beast...even though the engine is half the power of the beast b/c of its size I feel that I'm just zipping around town...

On a side note I'm sad to report that someone bought the beast and ended up wrecking it this past Friday...rolling it 3 times.. the beast will never ride again :tear: however the driver left pretty much unharmed.

Funk vs. Procrastination

I'm in a funk...at first I blamed the snowy, cold...no sun for days weather....now that the sun is coming around and that the weather is actually warming up..well a bit...I've realized I'm in a funk...I was doing really good and then I got a head cold this last week and downhill I went... Now I am feeling better but still have no desire to do the necessary things in life...like laundry...I know once I get it done I will feel better and accomplished but right now I just want to nap and watch tv and redo my blog and read and do everything else BUT laundry and pick up the house....blah...maybe its not a funk...maybe its just my procrastination that is kicking in.....
