Hot!

This summer has been a real scorcher here in Oklahoma. It seems like its is either raining or steamy hot outside. Yesterday I went a laid out for the first time this summer at my mom's apartment pool and I got there about 10:45 and it was already hot, hot, hot!! I wanted to get there kinda early one b/c they had mentioned a heat advisory for this weekend and two to hopefully avoid the families and kids since it was a Saturday. Well I was successful on both but man I could not believe how freakin hot it was!! I had to get into the pool about every 10-15 min to cool off.

Lindy and I have also been trying to walk a lot this last month since she moved in behind me and we always go around 11pm at night b/c even then its still around 85-90* outside. I was actually surprised how many other people we see walking or running that time of night just to avoid the heat. Last night I was looking at the weather on my phone and it was 90* at midnight but felt like 98* w/ humidity at 56% .....Thats nuts!!

I hope we actually have a fall season since we didn't really have spring....I'm ready for some cooler....not cold....weather.

Safe & Sound

As many of you know and or experienced ....we were hit with an outbreak of tornadoes here in Oklahoma last night. One of which hit about five miles away from us and luckily to the east of us....they usually travel in a west to east direction which put us in the all clear..... However not everyone was as lucky as we were and my prayers go out to you. The tornado actually traveled along the route that we take from our house to Brad's mom's house in Shawnee Oklahoma down highway 9. The areas in Norman that were hit were near HWY9 & Classen... I actually lived in apartments near there about 6yrs ago (I don't believe they were damaged other then down trees and such.) I had many friends without power for sometime but all got it back by the end of the night. 

The weird eerie thing about tornadoes...I think...is how the sun comes out so quickly after it has past or how you can be so close and experience near to nothing....we experienced high winds (which has been going on all month) and just a little bit of rain and a few rumbles of thunder....no hail or crazy flooding downpour.  Well here are some pictures I managed to steal from the interwebs including some of my very own facebook friends b/c I have yet to venture out of my house.

TIMmmm.BER!

So we had to say good.bye to some more trees last weekend. As some of you know we were hit hard about 3 winters ago with an insane ice storm. After that storm we removed 3 trees from the front yard and one from the side of the house along w/ one from the back yard. Well we again had an ugly snow storm this year and we had to remove more trees from the front and one more is going to have to go but the electric company will have to remove it since the branches pretty much rest on a wire.Here are pictures in order from the first very bad ice storm to this year and then to last weekend with them removing the last of the crooked pine tress.

Backyard Bliss

So first off I have to inform you that I woke up at 9:15ish this morning and I was standing in the kitchen and there was a loud "POP" outside and I lost all my power....fun...a transformer has blown...but the good news is that its currently 10:43 so about an hour and half and I just saw OG&E drive down my street...yippy!!

any-who I decided to go in the backyard and knock all the ice off the house so my dogs don't get impaled and I took a few pics out there....its kinda creepy b/c the pool tarp is creaking from all the weight of the snow and big ol' snow/ice balls are falling from the trees b/c everything is melting....ugh...

this would be a bush that normally stands as tall at that window behind it and you cant even walk here or you''ll fall in the pool b/c its blocking the sidewalk

So here in Oklahoma we have been hit with another winter storm....So I thought I would post a few pics from my front yard...I have yet to venture out into the back...
