Doe.Reen

So one of my friends rescued at little deer.headed cha.wow.wow and we got to watch her overnight. Her name is Doe.Reen like Doe...a female deer. She only weighs 1.9lbs!!! I was scared to pet her b/c she was so stinkin tiny!!

Isn't she just the cutest thing E.V.E.R!!!! Oh I just fell in love with her!!! She gets to come back to visit us next month and I am super excited!! I cant wait to see how much she has grown and changed!!!

Bean & the fountain

So brad found this awesome park right up the street from us and  he has started to take Charlie Bean up there to play fetch. They even have a doggie water fountain!! He's so cute!!

Casey Duke ....aka Chubbs... Lives for cookies (dog biscuits) so much so that we actually can not say the work "cookie" in our house unless we are serious about giving him one. The code letters are "C-O".....So when I came across this t.shirt at target I just had to get it for him!!!

Cooper is my very first dog in my adult life. I've had him since he was about 10 wks old (he is now 10 1/2yrs) and his goal in life is to be next to me and does whatever I ask of him. He is my soul puppy!

Brad's 30th Birthday

My Bradley turned 30 on April 24th...we however celebrated on the 23rd!! His mom planned a little family get together at Pole Position.... No its not a strip club -hehe- Its a raceway - like really really fast go carts!! It was so much fun!! I couldn't believe how fast you went -- and you had to wear some serious head gear that made you super sweaty... Well me being the space cadet that I am forgot to charge up the battery for the camera...so I only have a few pics of family and cake I took with my iphone...so they aren't the best - sorry.

Doxie Dash 2010

As you may know we are slightly obsessed w/ our little doxie Charlie Bean. Last year we were lucky enough to be chosen to have him race in the '09 Doxie Dash that is put on by the Oklahoma Gazette. This year we are sad to say that we are not going to be entering Charlie Bean into the dash...It turns out that they have moved from May to April 18th and Brad's 30th birthday the the following weekend and I may be attending a wedding the weekend b/f that on the 10th and its just way too much...So on that note we will be back 2011!! Watch out for the BEAN!

I just found this picture of Charlie on the Dachshund Dash website -- one of only 16 that were posted from last years race... so proud!!

Trash...You think we would learn by now

So it never fails....trash is full....not taken out at proper time...everyone gets a bit lazy now and then...unless you have dogs...then they remind you that you are only setting yourself up for disappointment...and a mess to clean up!

Today while I was taking a nap Brad decided to run and get something to eat...well instead of putting the dogs in their houses (crate) he left them out and the trash was unattended ...  I got up right when he came home to find the dogs had gotten into it...I have NO idea what was in there...other than coffee grounds & fast food leftovers...or for how long but Charlie ended up throwing up and Casey & Cooper are just acting like they don't feel well at all...hopefully out of all 5 of us ....we all learned our lessons...even if your gone for less then 10 min its enough time for 3 smart doggies to get into trouble and leave us w/ a mess to clean up.

What a weenier!!!

I don't know what has come over Charlie but he is scared of everything lately...Earlier today he wouldn't even walk by the empty bag of dog food w/o sputtering across the floor as he passed by w/ my assistance. Now Brad has thrown his toy down the hall...which we have done a million times b/f however this time he won't go and get it.... not sure if its b/c the hallway is dark or b/c he has to go by the scary room... the scary room is also known as the dining room and the vacuum monster also lives in the closet of that room...Below is a photo I took just now of Charlie sneaking up to the shadows of the hallway looking at his toy ....yet too big of a weenie dog to get it himself... what a weenier!!

 

Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired....

This last week was crap to say the least.... I got sick, sick, sick, I actually threw up...and there was no alcohol involved. I had a massive headache 2.5 days in a row w/nausea all week and hot flashes -- no fever though ... my temperature was actually lower then normal...I'm weird I guess. I still feel a lil icky today but I will survive.

So re my last post and my dad....We were able to get him into Grace Living Center...I had to be the one to break the news to him and I had to do it over the phone (since I was sick I could not go around all the old peeps) it sucked and I think it was one of the hardest things that I had to do in a long time...but in the end it was what is best for him...he told my mom that he is glad that we moved him there b.c it will keep his mind active. So that did make us feel better and he has a roommate which is good he needs company. In the end as sad as it may be I believe we did the right thing.

On a better note I'm still liking my new job as unit secretary in the ER. I finally am on my own and so far doing ok. The hardest part for me is that in registration I knew almost everything and now I know nothing...I know it will take time and experience but it is just frustrating....and now they are allowing us to get overtime which excites the heck out of me!!! So instead of going into work at 4pm I can go in at 2pm!! That makes me happy b/c I heart ot...again I know I'm weird.

Doxie Dash '09

This year our baby Charlie Bean was in the 5th annual Dachshund Dash. We were so excited !!! We trained him by running in the parking lot across the street and also playing fetch in the house. The only thing is that he got really scared when they put him in the little box.

We will work on that for next year!!

Once the race began the dogs on either side of him crossed in front of him along w/ their owners and Charlie did not see Brad right away, but once he did they were off...he was not even distracted w/ the other dogs running around him!!

I was quit impressed!

Charlie came in 4th in his heat out of 8! I think thats pretty darn good especially since this was his first race and he raced against Rufus the Grand Champion from the last two yrs! We had lots'o people show up to cheer little Bean Butt on. Both my parents and Brad's mom and step dad along with his granny and then a few of our friends -- It was a pretty fun afternoon to say the least :o)

Sweat Shop

So the doxie dash as you all know is this Sat and we decided to make t-shirts to wear. Well this started out as a fun and exciting thing for me and my girls to get together and do....Boy was I wrong!!! So last week Monday we all went to hobby lobby picked out our shirts - got some cool stencils and some paint and headed home to get started. We got home turned up the music to hits of the 90's and began.

We painted the word team on two shirts and peeled off the stencils to admire our fine work only to see that it looked like crap. The paint had bled under the stencil . So the next day Lindy came over and back to hobby lobby we went -- and we went for iron on's -- which worked out SO much better -- we also got a cute paw print stamp -- so back home we went to work for hours -- this was a bit more complex and time consuming then I thought it would be. We got the lettering and paw print done on the girls shirts the first day and then yesterday Lindy cam over again and we got all the lettering done and I got the front of 2 1/2 shirts done. We decided to just paint a doxie on the front -- the most time consuming thing is the paint b/c we have to do like 4 layers to get it to look right!! Anyways I've now learned my lesson and if little bean butt makes it in again next year I think I'm just going to pay to have shirts made :0)

Why I want to be in the race and how I will prepare: I want to prove that I am the fastest wiener in the west!! I have been preparing for this race by running with my papa and also running as fast as I can when I play fetch.

Biography

I am a 1yr old black/tan 13lb mini doxie. I live in Norman Oklahoma with my mama, papa and my two older fur-brothers Casey and Cooper. My brothers and I like to run around the backyard with our fur-neighbor Lula and I'm always the fastest!! I love to make mama play fetch with me! I even bring back the ball and set it next to her on the couch so she will throw it for me. I like to hang out at the local dog park and go swimming in our backyard pool durning the summer. Last year I attended the doxie dash as a spectator and I am super excited to be participating in it for the first time this year.

We found out last night!!! Brad's sister was at the drawing b/c her roommate also entered her dog Oliver in and he made it too!!! We are so excited!! But now this means it is time to get serious about training. Brad will be running w/ him b/c he is less likely to fall on his face...I'm kinda clumsy. And I'm SOOOO....making t-shirts and posters to hold - omg!! I'm so excited!!!

My Current Craze #2

Currently I have found a few new things that I love and and thought I would share them with you... I know I've had a post like this in the past but I'm always finding new things so I thought I'd share in no particular order...........

Sharpie Pen ... I love this pen!! The only downfall it that it doesn't work well on carbon copies :(

Bic Mark -It permanent markers....my friend Lindy gave me this set and I love them!!! All the colors and you can write on ANYTHING!! And they have these little rubber grippers just for your comfort!

My Rocket Dog Shoes.....I've had these for about 2yrs and I kinda forgot about them until recent. So I started wearing them and they are so comfy and I had gotten them on sale -- I actually found this pic online b/c I'm too lazy to take my own pic :)


Lemon Propel Packets .....I love this stuff its my favorite flavor!!! I hate drinking water....so I drink this instead .... I know nothing is as good for you as water but I figure this is better than coke.


My tart burner... this has been a love of mine for about 4yrs now!! I keep it in my kitchen and it pretty much smells up my whole house. The best part is that its electric so I don't have to worry about burning the joint down. This is my actual one I got from Bed Bath & Beyond. I found a new sent by Tyler (which I didn't know until yesterday that they had melters) Its called Limelight -- I love love love it.


Dear Yankee Candle,
I have been a loyal customer of yours for sometime now -- but you have disappointed me once again by discontinuing my favorite scent. First it was Juicy Orange, oh how you made my house smell so good. Now you have taken away my Good Morning scent...I just don't know if our relationship can survive this blow.

Feeling Flaky

So Cooper and Charlie both have dry flaky skin and since they are both black it quite noticeable. And if you don't know who the heck I'm talking about go here. Well today Casey got to go to PetsMart for his day of beauty which includes a bath, toe clippings, ear cleaning. While the other two get bathed at home b/c they have less hair and are SOOO...much easier to wash than Casey. So Brad and I were out and we took Cooper and Charlie to the dog park to play since Casey was gone today and they got so dirty!! So we dropped them off at home and ran around a bit, which included a stop at Petco for some new dog shampoo. We've been using oatmeal shampoo on them and they are REALLY flaky. So I found this shampoo called Feeling Flaky by Pet Head by TIGI who make Bed Head for peeps, which I myself am a fan of. Anyways I bathed them both when I got home and so far no flakes. Im sure it will take a few shampooings but they are super soft and smell great - it kinda had a grape scent to it. It was a bit pricey for dog shampoo $14.99 but it was only $2.00 more then the medicated one and smells way better!

Just A Bunch of Nothingness

Take the Pain Away
So today and yesterday I must say have been pretty crappy. I didn't feel good yesterday and spent most of the day in bed which then lead to a migraine. We had tickets to the OU/A&M basketball game which I ended up just giving to a friend b/c I felt so shitty. I feel bad b/c I guess it was a pretty good game from what I hear...which I wouldn't know I was in bed by 8:30. I tried going into work today, made it there but only stayed 16 min to be exact - my left eyeball felt as though it was going to explode out of my head so I was lucky enough to get to go home - which I slept again until about 6:30 tonight and finally woke up w/o as much pain in my noggin...now I hope I can just sleep tonight.

Money Woes
I just got paid today and my money is already gone...don't you hate it when that happens! Which I'm a bit sad about but you know that is life and the bills have to be paid.

Random
I sit here wondering whats wrong w/ my dogs b/c not only have they slept all day w/ me but they have also been sleeping all night. Even Charlie he has not asked to play w/ his ball all night!! I guess they are just as lazy as their mama.

Smell the Air
I don't know if any of you got out today or even this evening but the weather here is freaking awesome. I ran to the store around 7 and the air felt so good!! I love just breathing it in its so refreshing. I heard that we had our last cold day for the season on Wed. Which I hope it true b/c I am so ready for spring!!! And its suppose to thunderstorm on Mon which will be awesome as long as there are no tornados.

Yankee Love
I love yankee candles and I'm currently burning my favor sent (good morning) oh its such a wonderful smell!! I highly suggest it to anyone who like candles. I was thinking about investing in a Tyler candle next b.c I've almost burn through this one but I just love it so much I may just have to get another.
